About Lewisville Lake
Lewisville Lake is one of the most popular recreational lakes in Texas: a 29,000-acre US Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River at the northern edge of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish fishing here is outstanding, and more than 10 park units put boat ramps, swimming beaches, hiking trails, and picnic areas within reach along 183 miles of shoreline. Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA) adds 2,000 acres of protected natural habitat with excellent birding. At 29 miles and about 43 minutes from Waggin' Tail Ranch, it is the closest large recreational lake to your site.
