How far is Waggin' Tail from Lake Ray Roberts?

7.6 miles west of the Isle du Bois Unit entrance, about 12 minutes by car. Johnson Branch Unit is a little farther north.

Why stay at Waggin' Tail instead of camping at the park?

You get full hookups, concrete pads, fenced yards, a pool, and dog amenities, none of which are available at the state park's primitive and electric sites.

Can I bring my boat?

The lake's boat ramps at both state park units are open to day visitors. We do not have extra parking for boats or trailers at the resort, so please call ahead and we will talk through what will work for your rig.

Is fishing good at Lake Ray Roberts?

Yes. The lake is one of North Texas's best bass fisheries. Spring is prime season. The lake has produced some exceptional catches over the years.

Can my dogs come to the lake?

Dogs are allowed in most areas of the state park on leash. Combined with the fenced yard and dog amenities at Waggin' Tail, it's a great trip for dogs.
